Tailored Alloys is building a Large Language Model (LLM) to empower small and medium-sized manufacturers to make decisions about additive manufacturing efficiently. Working out of Youngstown, we leverage our specialized knowledge in metals additive manufacturing—especially laser powder bed fusion—to train the LLM, named ChatAlloy. ChatAlloy’s front end is built using React and styled with Material UI to ensure a responsive and user-friendly interface. The back end is developed with Django, which handles data management, user authentication, and API endpoints. For natural language processing and reasoning, we use LangChain, leveraging agentic workflows to orchestrate the LLM's interactions with various tools and data sources
